Isis is the goddess of magic. She married her brother Osiris and had a child named Horus. Her magic skills restored Osiris’ body to life after she gathered the body parts that had been strewn about the earth by Set. Isis is the goddess of motherhood, magic and fertility. In later myths, ancient Egyptians believed that the Nile River flooded every year because Isis cried over her dead husband Osiris. Isis was worshiped as the ideal matron of nature and magic.
