Yoga and Meditation

Yoga and meditation are soothing ways to calm the nerves and dim the senses.  Yoga and meditation are two things created in India.  Meditation is very relaxing and calming.  Where as yoga is not, it is very hard work.  Meditation can change your life and so can yoga that is one thing they have in common.  Yoga refers to traditional physical and mental disciplines that originated  in India.  Meditation refers to any of a family of practices in which the practitioner trains his or her mind or self-induces a mode of consciousness in order to realize some benefit.  My experience  doing yoga is very fun.  I think if you put all your effort you can do it but I can’t promise you your going to love it because it’s very hard work.  People who do yoga are either called a yogi or a yogini.  It is also practiced with religions like Hinduism , Buddhism and Jainism.  The word ” Yoga” is originated from the Sanskrit  word “Yuj” meaning unity. We still don’t no when this system of movements and breathing was created but what we do know is that it was created in India and that it was often practiced on a daily basis.  What I love about yoga is you don’t always have to be tensed up and fit to be able to do it and the best part is it’s easy to remember so you don’t have to look up at the screen the whole time.  So doing yoga is not a race.  It’s not about being the best it’s about being relaxed and confident in your self.  So all in all yoga and meditation are a practices for everyone and it’s a lot of fun.

  1. I would love to come to one of your Yoga classes. I hear you guys are very dedicated to your practice. I started doing Yoga when I was about your age watching a show on channel 13 with Grandma Maryanne. She is very good at Yoga too. It has been a constant thread throughout my life to get in touch with my body and to help me remain calm and centered. I am so happy you are learning about Yoga and how good it makes your body feel.
