We are celebrating a fun milestone today at The Galileo School- Our 100th blog entry! We have had a blast chronicling our adventures and sharing our work with our friends and family. From building a ziggurat to performing an original version of the Iliad. From making our own paper to making authentic Indian shadow puppets. We have read ancient texts like Gilgamesh, Ra, Osiris and Deucalion and Pyrrha , the Old Testament, The Tao Te Ching, The analects of Confucius, The Bhagavad Gita and The Popol Vuh, etc. The children have learned to write poems, plays, comparative essays, dialogues, creative essays, songs and most recently their own creation myths (samples of which can be found right here at thegalileoschool.com). We have had the good fortune to meet with experts at Yale, Brown, UPenn and Harvard to share and discuss our ancient studies. We have carefully honed our math and writing skills to great success with the help of some great books and online programs. We have sampled food and culture from around the globe with the help of some very good friends… and the year isn’t even over yet! There are many more great adventures to come and we would love it if you followed along. 100 Blog Entries! : In honor of this happy event we are making an exciting announcement: The Galileo School is going public! Say goodbye to annoying passwords and pesky usernames, from now on you’ll be able to check in with us simply and easily. We hope you’ll stop by once in a while and check out what we are up to. Don’t forget to say “hi” in the comments section.
