Today, we went for a run in the park. When we first started to run a couple of years back, it was hard for us to run even one lap around our track. Today, we all felt proud that we can now easily running one mile around the track ( 4 times around ) . It was worth all of the hard work to successfully run a mile in fairly good time.  Not one of us gave up along the way.  This was one of the times when I could see the pay off of practice and the benefits of sticking with something even if you are not initially good at it. I was glad that my legs ached when I came home. These were our times:

Jack: 8 min 45 sec                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                Vanessa: 10 min 50 sec                                                                                                                                                                                                                                     Payton: 10 min 30 sec                                                                                                                                                                                                                                      Ava: 12 min

All these times are very impressive compared to the ones we had one year ago.  Running is a very fun experience! Today was a beautiful day outside, unusually warm for December. The air was crisp and clear.  We had the track practically to ourselves, which is one of the many advantages of homeschooling.  I am glad that my gym period is always varied because I love learning new things. Even though I didn’t like it in the beginning I stuck with it and now I am very proud.  Running is one of my favorite activities now and I look forward to doing it more often.  See you out on the track!
